Snow? Check. Evo? Check.

Hmm, here’s a dilemma. The snow has landed - and how - and I’ve got a four-wheel drive car. A four-wheel drive car with 403hp and track-style rubber. A Land Rover it ain’t. But I’m still tempted to go out and see if I can make it to the office. Glad the Evo has chipped in with a warning about the potentially dicey conditions too:

‘My’ Evo FQ400 has, of course, a ’snow’ setting for the S-AWC (that’s Super-All Wheel Control - something I think I’ll be needing) and is a barely civilianised rally car. Ideal!

It’s also got a ground hugging front splitter/bumper one of my esteemed colleagues boasted in jest ‘could double as a snow-plough’ in a road test. I laughed when I read that, little knowing I might actually putting that to the test.

Right, I think I might head out on foot first for a bit of a recce. Last time the snow came down there were people slithering all over the place on my road, including one who drove into a wall - not something I want to be repeating in the super-trick £50K FQ I’m thinking…
