More snow adventures

I know, literally the entire the nation has been waiting with bated breath. "When are we going to hear Dan’s latest update about driving a Smart around in the snow?" Fear not, here it is! And the news is the plucky little ForTwo made it through to the office this morning in fine style, making the ascent from my house on a parallel - and marginally less slippy - road to my test hill. And, I think, the ESP mod actually helped after all, letting me stay on the power and keep my fragile momentum up all the way to the top with only a slight sideways slither at one point. I’m not the only one having adventures in the snow either, a slightly exciteable Peter arriving at the office a short time ago in his, er, 4×4.
Yes, he rather bravely brought his Carrera 4 in although it wasn’t all plain sailing, the Porsche gliding serenely off the road and into a pile of snow on one of the back roads near his house. No harm done and, thanks to the nifty manual override on the centre diff (no, I didn’t know 964s had that either) he was back on his way in no time.
Just goes to show, you don’t necessarily need a Land Cruiser to get about in the snowy weather!
