Volkswagen Group boots it!

If you like Volkswagen-esque estates, you’re spoiled for choice right now. Here are two more load-luggers from the VW family:
You’ll recognise one. It’s our SEAT Exeo ST long-termer. And the other? It’s the one you can get for almost the same circa-23k spend. The new Skoda Superb estate. Time for a boot-off!
No prizes for guessing which is bigger - it’s that of the far bigger Skoda. You can tell that even from this distance: that’s why it’s called ‘estate’, rather than the SEAT’s ‘Sport Tourer’ tag.
See what I mean? The Skoda had its load cover slid right back, just as the SEAT did. Thing is, so far back does the Skoda boot go, you can’t actually see it… black hole indeed.
Such is the choice offered at stellar value for money by the VW Group. Sporty look or the ultimate load-lugger? You can have either/or. Don’t forget alternatives from Audi and VW itself, too.
For the record, here’s how the two load bays compare. There is a clear victor…:
SEAT: Seats up 442 litres, seats down 1,184 litres.
Skoda: Seats up 633 litres, seats down 1,865 litres.
So there you go. Another exhaustive MSN Cars top-tail(gate) test…
