Early start for Ford Fair 2009

Yes, yes, it’s 5am on a Sunday morning – which has got to be one of the most perfectly disagreeable times of the week.
However, I’m awake (and writing) because I’m off to meet up with the guys (and gals) from MyKa.org, ahead of the 2009 Ford Fair at Silverstone.
Ford Fair is the biggest Ford event in Europe, and although MyKa is a Ka forum, I thought it would be a little bit more of an adventure to travel up the road in something a little older. About half a century older, in fact, as I’ve borrowed an Anglia 105E (Deluxe no less) from Ford’s fabulous heritage fleet.
This little darling is 1.2-litres of raw power, with an official top speed of 80mph. It actually goes much, much better than you’d think, and I’m not anticipating any problems – despite a distinct hint of precipitation being on the cards.
More on the Anglia 105E – which is celebrating its 50th anniversary at Ford Fair 2009, alongside 40 years of the Capri – very soon. In the meantime enjoy the hastily snapped gallery below.
