Just a quick note to say there’s just been announcement that two new models are coming to the Mini plant in Cowley, Oxford. Great news for British jobs - hurray!
However, what’s interesting is that the same announcement reveals that both new models will apparently be shown at the Frankfurt motor show in about two weeks’ time. Therefore confirming not only that the so called Mini Coupé ‘Concept’ is going into production, but that a second concept will be joining it on the Mini show stand.
Now, this could be the 4×4/SUV/Crossover, or whatever it’s being called under the current fad. But I was under the impression this was being built somewhere else entirely - as it’s based on a completely new platform. So my money’s on a new Mini Roadster to match the Coupé variant - and really put the frighteners on the Audi TT…
